The Mpumalanga Department of Health has opened applications for its Graduate Internship Programme for 2026, funded by the Health and Welfare SETA (HWSETA). This programme offers 15 internship opportunities to unemployed graduates who are passionate about contributing to the public health sector while gaining meaningful workplace experience.

Successful candidates will complete a 12-month placement, receive a monthly stipend of R6 000, and be supervised by trained mentors throughout their internship. Preference will be given to applicants who reside within Mpumalanga Province, especially those who have not previously benefited from similar programmes.

Note: Only applicants with qualifications relevant to the internship programme will be considered.

Requirements

To apply successfully, you must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old Be an unemployed graduate
  • Have a recognised Degree or National Diploma (NQF level 6 or 7)
  • Have never participated in an HWSETA-funded internship before
  • Preferably reside in Mpumalanga Province
  • Be willing to undergo suitability checks and competency assessments
  • Attach a medical certificate if you are shortlisted
  • People with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply
