The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is once again opening its doors to young and ambitious learners through its 18-month Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme. This exciting opportunity is designed for TVET College learners who have recently completed their N6 Management Assistant qualification and are eager to gain practical workplace experience that bridges the gap between studies and full-time employment.
Programme Overview
The SAWS Work Integrated Learning Programme aims to provide students with hands-on exposure in a professional environment, while contributing to the organisation’s mission of delivering world-class weather and climate-related services. This structured learning experience equips participants with the technical and administrative skills necessary to thrive in the workplace and ultimately secure a National Diploma.
For the 2025 intake, SAWS has announced:
- Management Assistant N6 – 3 Positions Available
- Reference Number: SAWSWIL 2025
Successful learners will be placed at the SAWS Centurion offices, where they will undergo real-life workplace training aligned with their studies.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must have just completed an N6 in Management Assistant.
- Must have been unemployed for less than one year after completing the N6 qualification.
- Must submit the following via the SAWS recruitment portal:
- Certificate of Achievement
- Letter from College confirming the intent to complete/fulfil a Diploma
- Updated Curriculum Vitae (with clear details such as ID and residential address)
- People living with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply and must attach a Doctor’s letter confirming their disability.
These requirements ensure that candidates are fresh graduates who are still within their transition phase into the workforce, making the programme ideal for practical growth.
