What the Boilermaker Learnership Entails

This 18.2 Learnership Programme is designed to provide candidates with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experience in the Boilermaking trade. Learners will be trained under the supervision of seasoned artisans and industry professionals, with the goal of achieving full artisan status upon successful completion of the programme.

Successful candidates will undergo intensive training that includes:

  • Fabrication and assembly of metal structures and components
  • Welding and flame cutting operations
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Routine maintenance and fault-finding procedures

 

 

Who Should Apply?

Afrisam is looking for technically inclined youth who are currently unemployed and meet any of the following minimum academic qualifications:

  • Grade 12 with:
    • Pure Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy)
    • Physical Science
    • English (all subjects must be passed)

OR

  • N2 Certificate with four relevant subjects, including:
    • Mathematics
    • Engineering Science
    • Plus two trade-related subjects

OR

  • NCV Engineering Certificate with:
    • Seven subjects at NQF Level 4

OR

  • Technical Grade 11 with:
    • Mathematics
    • Physical Science
    • Language
    • Related trade theory subject

OR

  • A relevant N6 Certificate or National Technical Diploma (T, S, or N stream) directly related to the Boilermaking trade.

Locations

The learnerships will be hosted at the following operational sites:

  • Eikenhof Quarry, Gauteng
  • Jukskei Quarry, Gauteng

These sites offer the ideal industrial setting for hands-on learning and direct mentorship.
