Abaguquli 4IR Skills Programme for 2025

Abaguquli 4IR Skills Programme for 2025

In the rapidly evolving world of technology, inclusion and representation remain key to sustainable progress. The Abaguquli 4IR Skills Programme stands at the forefront of this transformation. Specifically tailored for young Black female graduates, this dynamic initiative seeks to bridge the digital divide by equipping participants with in-demand skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital literacy, and leadership—empowering them to thrive in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).

Why the Abaguquli Programme Matters

South Africa, like many countries, faces the dual challenge of youth unemployment and underrepresentation of Black women in tech and leadership roles. The Abaguquli 4IR Skills Programme was created in response to this, underpinned by a vision of inclusive innovation and equity in the digital economy. By targeting recent Black female graduates, the programme ensures that this highly capable yet underserved demographic receives opportunities to build careers aligned with the future world of work.

What the Programme Offers

Participants of the Abaguquli 4IR Skills Programme are taken through an intensive, hands-on training experience focused on three pillars:

  1. Digital Skills
Learn the foundational and advanced competencies of digital technologies, including cybersecurity, data analytics, software tools, and digital communication strategies vital in today’s workplace.
  2. Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Develop a comprehensive understanding of AI, including machine learning, natural language processing, and real-world AI applications. The training demystifies AI while building confidence and competence in working with intelligent systems.
  3. Leadership Development
Cultivate leadership potential through modules on emotional intelligence, critical thinking, innovation, team collaboration, and strategic decision-making. The goal is to nurture not just tech-savvy professionals, but empowered women leaders ready to take on senior roles in the tech ecosystem.
