Umsobomvu Municipality EPWP Graduate Internship Programme for 2025

In a concerted effort to tackle youth unemployment and promote environmental sustainability, the Umsobomvu Local Municipality, in collaboration with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), has launched the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) Graduate Internship Programme. This initiative is a game-changer for graduates in the Northern Cape and beyond, offering vital workplace exposure, practical experience, and a pathway into sustainable careers within the environmental sector.

Empowering Graduates Through Experience

The EPWP Graduate Internship Programme is designed to empower unemployed graduates by equipping them with skills and knowledge that align with South Africa’s growing need for environmental conservation, climate change mitigation, and natural resource management. Through this internship, participants gain hands-on experience in areas such as waste management, community environmental awareness, biodiversity, and sustainable development practices.

Graduates placed in this programme will work closely with municipal departments and DFFE officials to implement environmental projects that benefit both the community and the ecosystem.
