  • Agriculture in Oenology (MSc)
  • Agriculture in Viticulture (MSc)
  • Cellar Technology / Cellar Management (BAgric)
  • Microbiology (BSc)
  • Other related qualifications relevant to the wine value chain.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the 2026 bursary programme:

  • Be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
  • Be currently in Matric or already have a Matric certificate.
  • Be enrolled or planning to enrol in one of the listed fields at a recognised South African institution.
  • Demonstrate passion and commitment to the wine industry.
  • Not be receiving any other bursary, scholarship, or financial aid.
  • Be unemployed at the time of application.
  • Students with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

These criteria ensure that the programme reaches passionate individuals who are ready to contribute meaningfully to the sector.

Required Supporting Documents

To complete the application, applicants must provide certified and up-to-date supporting documents, including:

  • South African ID or proof of permanent residence.
  • Matric certificate (if completed) or 2025 mid-year results.
  • Latest academic transcripts and proof of 2025 tertiary registration.
  • Certified proof of residential address.
  • Motivational letter explaining commitment to the wine sector.
  • Estimated 2026 tuition fee statement (including study materials and accommodation).
  • Completed Costing breakdown and Marks breakdown Excel sheets.
  • Sworn affidavit and POPI Act agreement signed at a police station.
  • Proof of disability (if applicable).
