This is a province-wide placement programme, offering 135 opportunities across different farms and agricultural enterprises in Limpopo, giving graduates the chance to gain hands-on exposure in crop production, livestock, citrus operations, subtrop farming, poultry, and mixed farming.

Requirements (Who Can Apply?)
To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
Minimum Qualification
- Grade 12, plus
- an appropriate NQF Level 6 qualification (Diploma/Degree) in Agriculture-related fields, or an equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA.
Important Priority Notes
- Limpopo-based unemployed graduates will be given priority
- Applicants must be entering a government internship/developmental programme for the first time
- If you already participated in a government internship/development programme and have a PERSAL number, with 12 or more consecutive months experience, you will be automatically disqualified
Other Selection Targets
The advert states targeted beneficiaries should be:
- 50% to a maximum of 55% women
- 80% youth (18–35 years)
- 20% unemployed graduates aged 36–40 years
- 3% persons living with disabilities
Additional Conditions
- Private studies are not permitted during the two-year participation
- Applicants must be willing to work abnormal hours
- Successful applicants will be offered a fixed-term contract not exceeding 24 months
- Placement will be done according to department needs and in the district where the applicant resides
Duties (What You Will Be Doing)
This is a practical programme and your responsibilities may include:
- Farm management support
- Scouting and monitoring crops
- Disease control (livestock and production environments)
- Dipping and dosing of livestock
- Identification of livestock
- Spraying operations
- Record keeping
- Packaging of agricultural produce
- Loading and offloading produce
- Marketing of agricultural products
- Identifying new markets for produce
- Supervision of workers
- Assisting in developing farm plans and production plans
