What is the PEP Imports Graduate Internship Programme?

The PEP Imports Graduate Internship is a structured training programme aimed at empowering young graduates to step confidently into the working world. The internship is housed within the Imports Division of PEP, where international product sourcing, freight coordination, customs processes, and supplier management are central to everyday operations.

This programme is ideal for individuals who are analytical, process-driven, and have a passion for optimizing systems within the supply chain. Over the course of the internship, participants will be exposed to various import-related tasks, work on live projects, and collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Bachelor of Commerce in Supply Chain and Operations Management
  • Import/Exports qualification will be an advantage
  • Imports/Exports experience will be an advantage
  • Strong administration skills – Fanatical attention to detail and data accuracy,
  • Computer Literacy: MS Excel, Outlook, G Suite

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creation of imports shipments and documentary Letter of Credits
  • Reporting and supplier communication
  • Liaising with the Clearing and forwarding agent on all metric exceptions and advising the relevant departments (merchandise, planning ,finance etc) of all exceptions
  • Ensure imports documents is accurate and Customs compliant on the database prior to submitting to the clearing agent and banks
  • Follow up of all outstanding documents from the suppliers to avoid late clearance
  • Follow up all outstanding pro-forma and orders not released that is due for shipment
  • Update of all events relevant to the shipment module on PLM database.
  • Tracking, tracing and prioritizing of import shipments
  • Controlling of imports schedule with all containers docking for delivery to the DC ● Assistance with weekly and month end reports
  • Assistance with special projects
  • General office administration (incl. filing, updating of reports, emails.)
