Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements before applying:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Must intend to study full-time within one of the listed Engineering fields.
- Must be enrolled or accepted at an accredited South African tertiary institution.
- Must have a strong academic record with at least 60% in Mathematics and Science.
- Must be self-disciplined, energetic, and committed to personal development.
- Must demonstrate problem-solving and communication skills.
- Must have (or be able to obtain) a valid certificate of fitness in line with the Mine Health and Safety Act.
- Preference will be given to students from local communities in alignment with Northern Coal’s Employment Equity and Social & Labour Plan, though students from other regions are also encouraged to apply.
