Northern Cape Premier’s Bursary Programme 2026

The Northern Cape Provincial Government, through the Premier’s Bursary Programme, is once again opening doors of opportunity for young people in the province. If you are an unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 30, residing in the Northern Cape, this bursary could be your stepping stone toward higher education and a brighter future.

This bursary programme is specifically aimed at RSA citizens who want to pursue full-time undergraduate studies (first qualification) at any accredited South African Higher Education Institution (HEI). By targeting financially needy students with strong academic potential, the Office of the Premier is ensuring that deserving youth gain access to higher education opportunities.

Who Can Apply?

Applications are welcomed from:

  • Current Grade 12 learners.
  • Youth who have completed Grade 12 but are not yet studying.
  • Students already enrolled at a recognised Higher Education Institution.

The bursary is open to all disciplines but gives preference to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related fields of study, as these areas are critical to the province’s development.
