The Market Theatre Foundation (MTF), in partnership with the YES4Youth Programme, invites unemployed South African youth to apply for 10 internship opportunities for the 2026 intake. This exciting initiative offers young people the chance to gain hands-on experience and develop valuable skills in a creative and dynamic environment.
Programme Overview
The 10 successful candidates will each receive a 12-month fixed-term contract from January 2026 to December 2026 and a monthly stipend of R5,000.
No prior experience is required, making this a great opportunity for recent graduates eager to enter the workforce.

- Applicants must not have participated in the YES4Youth Programme before.

Applicant Requirements
- South African citizens aged 18 to 34 years.
- Must be unemployed and provide an affidavit confirming this status.
- Must have completed Matric and hold at least a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Degree from a recognised institution.
- Must register on the YES Youth platform at https://www.yes4youth.co.za.
- Must submit a detailed CV, certified copy of ID, and proof of qualification.
- Interest or knowledge in the creative arts will be an added advantage.

Assist the technical production team in setting up and operating sound for theatre productions and events.
Requirements:
- National Diploma/Degree in Sound Technology/Engineering or Performing Arts.
- Experience with mixing consoles, patching, sound setup, and cue programming.

Support the lighting department with equipment setup, programming, and operation during shows.
