  2. Registration: Must be registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a pharmacy student or intern.
  3. Core Skills:
    • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
    • Computer literacy
    • Familiarity with the Pharmacy Act No. 53 of 1974 and the Medicines and Related Substances Act 101 of 1965
    • Excellent record‑keeping and attention to detail

 

 

What You’ll Do:

Interns will rotate through various health facilities—community clinics and hospitals—within districts such as Capricorn, Mopani, Sekhukhune, Vhembe, and Waterberg. Core responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in day‑to‑day operations of pharmacy services
  • Dispensing medications under supervision
  • Counselling patients on proper medicine use
  • Maintaining medical stock and ensuring compliance
  • Preparing for and performing duties within the pharmacist’s scope, under mentorship.
