Requirements
To qualify, you must have:
A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following:
- Environmental Health
- Environmental Science
- Biological Sciences
- Health Science
- Biomedical Sciences
- Medical Sciences
(Recognised at NQF Level 6 by SAQA.)
Competencies & Skills
- Knowledge of malaria control and general disease control
- Understanding of malaria signs, symptoms, prevention and treatment
- Strong administration and reporting skills
- Good communication skills
- Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to use virtual meeting platforms
- Valid Code C driver’s licence + PDP
Key Duties
As a Foreman, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting vector control activities (indoor residual spraying, larval source management)
- Mixing insecticides and handling spraying equipment
- Investigating malaria and other disease cases
- Cleaning and maintaining Department of Health facilities
- Collecting and capturing data for disease control operations
- Conducting environmental and community disease surveillance
- Mobilising communities through door-to-door campaigns and school outreach
- Encouraging malaria testing through mobile clinics
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and programme reports
