Limpopo Education: Learner Support Agent (LSA) Opportunities (X120 Posts) 2025/2026

The Limpopo Department of Education has announced an exciting opportunity for unemployed youth in the province. A total of 120 Learner Support Agent (LSA) positions are available on a fixed-term contract for nine months, from November 2025 to April 2026. These posts fall under the department’s drive to support schools and provide unemployed youth with meaningful work experience while contributing to the education system.

About the Programme

The Learner Support Agent initiative is designed to place young people in schools and circuits where they will assist in academic, administrative, and learner-support related tasks. The programme runs in partnership with the Department of Basic Education’s broader efforts to empower local communities while addressing unemployment.

Successful candidates will be contracted on a temporary/fixed-term basis and will receive a stipend of R4,000 per month. The focus is not only on providing short-term employment but also on equipping participants with valuable experience that may open doors to future careers in education, administration, or community development.

Posts and Placement

The 120 posts are spread across different schools and education circuits throughout the Limpopo province. Each post comes with a reference number and a designated workstation. While the full list of schools and villages is extensive, it includes locations across Nkowankowa, Giyani, Letaba, Lebopo, Mutale, Mamaila, Lulekani, Namakgale, and many more. Applicants are encouraged to apply to posts closest to their area of residence to enhance community involvement and accessibility.

  • Age range: Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a willingness to work with learners, educators, and the school community.
  • Ability to work under supervision and contribute to both administrative and academic support tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

Learner Support Agents will be expected to:

  • Assist teachers with classroom preparation and learner support.

  • Support school management teams with organising learner activities.
  • Act as a bridge between learners, educators, and parents to improve communication and learner performance.
  • Perform any reasonable duties allocated by the school principal or departmental supervisors.

Duration and Benefits

This opportunity is offered for nine months (November 2025 – April 2026) and comes with a monthly stipend of R4,000. While temporary, it represents a valuable stepping-stone for young people looking to build work experience, especially in the education sector. Participants will also gain exposure to professional environments, teamwork, and community engagement practices.

How to Apply

Interested candidates must submit:
