POSTS: LEARNERSHIPS / INTERNSHIPS
- Stipend: R3 840, 96 Per Month
IkamvaYouth provides a volunteer programme that empowers learners from under-resourced communities to achieve dignified living and sustainable livelihoods through academic support and career guidance.
The organization exists to reduce inequality in South Africa and its record of accomplishment of stellar matric results, access to post-school opportunities, alumni achievements, and many other successes provides evidence that positive change is possible.
THE PURPOSE OF THE INTERNSHIP/ LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
The IkamvaYouth Internship Programme offers you practical work in one, or more, of IkamvaYouth’s branches, providing you an opportunity to understand the organization’s mandate and programme while gaining professional exposure. All interns will receive relevant accredited and non-accredited courses to improve their skills and knowledge.
THE PLACEMENTS WILL BE FOLLOWING BRANCHES:
- Western Cape: Nyanga, Gugulethu, Makhaza, Kuyasa, Masiphumelele and Atlantis Branch
- Gauteng: Mamelodi, Dieplsoot, Ebony Park, Ivory Park Branch
- Northwest: Ikageng and Mahikeng Branch
- Kwazulu Natal: Umlazi and Centerville
- Eastern Cape: Joza Branch
WHO CAN APPLY?
- All unemployed IkamvaYouth alumni and Volunteers who have completed Gr 12, Diploma, Degree, etc.
- Previous interns are welcome to apply for this opportunity again.
- You must be aged between 18 and 34 years.
- You must not be currently in full-time studies and can attend this internship full-time.
- Candidates with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
- Languages: You should have an excellent command, both written and spoken, of the English language, as well as a working knowledge of at least one other South African language.
- Computer skills: You must have a working knowledge of MS Office and Google Email and Drive.
- Team player: You should be able to work well in a team and in a collaborative working environment.
- Communication skills: You should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
