Available Internships: Finance Interns (3 Positions)
- Department: Budget and Treasury Office
- Duration: 3 Years Contract
- Annual Salary: R90,000 to R100,000 a year
- Station: Daily Dispatch

Minimum Requirements
To be considered, applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric
A three-year national diploma or bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas:
- Economics
- Accounting
- Internal Auditing
- Economics & Econometrics
- Business Studies
- Risk Management
- Auditing
These qualifications are essential as they form the foundation of the technical skills required in municipal finance functions.
Important Duties
People who are successful will be actively involved in:
- Budgeting: Helping to make and keep up with city budgets.
- Budget Monitoring: Tracking expenditure and revenue against approved budgets.
- Asset Management: Assisting with the maintenance and verification of municipal assets.
The internship gives interns a full view of how finances work, making sure they learn skills that are useful in the real world, as required by the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).
