What Is the HDA Facilities Internship Programme?
The 12 months HDA Facilities Internship Programme is structured to provide hands-on, practical work experience to recent graduates with qualifications in Facilities Management, Property Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields. Interns are placed in dynamic, real-world working environments that expose them to the operational demands of managing public infrastructure and housing-related facilities.
The programme not only equips interns with relevant experience but also prepares them for full-time employment within the broader built environment sector. It aligns with the agency’s mandate to improve human settlements and enhance service delivery in under-resourced communities through skilled human resources.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
This internship is ideal for unemployed South African graduates who:
- Degree in Facilities Management / Occupational Health & Safety / Property Management or similar
- Have a keen interest in public infrastructure development.
- Are passionate about contributing to sustainable human settlement development.
- Have never participated in an internship programme funded by a government department or SETA before.
- Only candidates residing in Johannesburg with no internship or work experience may apply.
Preference is given to youth, people with disabilities, and previously disadvantaged individuals in line with the HDA’s employment equity policy.
