Govan Mbeki Local Municipality Invites suitably qualified Unemployed South African Youth to apply for their Graduate Placement Programme. The closing date for applications is the 28th November 2025.
This project is part of the city’s plan to create a long-lasting pool of young talent in important fields like finance, governance, engineering, environmental sciences, planning, and various management fields. The program’s goals are to improve infrastructure management, strengthen governance, and promote financial sustainability in the Govan Mbeki area.

Who Should Apply?
Unemployed graduates with a National Diploma, Degree, or Honours degree in one of the following fields can apply for the programme:
Finance and Business Fields: Business and Public Management, Financial Management, Internal Auditing, Economics, Risk Management, Logistics, Procurement Management, and Supply Chain Management.
Engineering and the Built Environment: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Project Management, Quantity Surveying, and Architecture.
Microbiology, Biochemistry, Natural Sciences, Environmental Management, and Water Care are all part of the sciences and environment.
Planning and Land Disciplines: Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, GIS, Geomatics, and Property Valuation.
Public Sector and Human Development: Public Administration, Human Resource Management, Disaster Management, Governance, and Organizational Development.
Transport and Technology: Fleet and Transport Management and Information Communication Technology (ICT).
Requirements
To be considered, applicants must send in:
- An official municipal application form that is completely filled out (Available Below)
- Full CV
- Copy of ID that has been certified
- Copies of qualifications that have been certified
- Results statement
- Proof of residence can be shown by municipal services
- SAQA evaluation for foreign qualifications (if necessary)
The municipality will only look at applications that are complete. Candidates who are on the shortlist must bring original documents to their interviews.
