Through this comprehensive curriculum, learners not only gain valuable practical knowledge but also improve their employability in the construction and home improvement industries.
What sets this programme apart is its practical, community-based approach. Participants undergo both theoretical classroom training and on-the-job learning in real residential settings. This ensures that they are work-ready by the time they complete the course. The programme is aligned with SETA standards, allowing successful candidates to earn recognized certification—an added advantage for future job placement or entrepreneurial ventures.
The North West Department of Education is also committed to inclusivity, encouraging applications from women, youth with disabilities, and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Additionally, learners receive monthly stipends, making the programme accessible even to those with financial constraints.
Applications are typically open through the Department of Education’s district offices or official government websites. Aspiring participants are encouraged to prepare certified copies of their qualifications, proof of residence, and updated CVs when applying.
By investing in practical skills and vocational training, the General Residential Repairer Skills Programme is more than just a learning opportunity—it’s a gateway to sustainable livelihoods, economic empowerment, and stronger communities in the North West Province.
