In South Africa’s ongoing mission to curb youth unemployment and boost workplace readiness, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges play a vital role. Elangeni TVET College, based in KwaZulu-Natal, stands at the forefront of this effort by offering a range of internship programmes designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world experience. WHAT IS THE ELANGENI TVET COLLEGE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME?

The Elangeni TVET College Internship Programme is a structured practical training initiative targeting graduates and students in need of in-service training. It forms part of the college’s Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and experiential learning support framework, which aims to provide students with relevant, hands-on experience in fields aligned with their studies. These internships are typically available to N6 graduates, NCV Level 4 certificate holders, and other qualifying students who have completed the theoretical portion of their studies and now require practical exposure to graduate.

 

 

KEY FIELDS OF INTERNSHIP:

Elangeni TVET College offers internship opportunities across a variety of disciplines that align with their course offerings, including:

OFFICE ADMINISTRATION (REF NO. 0A01) – MONTHLY STIPEND OF R5000

  • NQF Level 6 in Office Management and Information Technology or Business Management or Equivalent

LABOUR RELATIONS (REF NO. LRO1) – MONTHLY STIPEND OF R5000.00

  • NOF Level 6 in Human Resources Management or Labour relations or equivalent.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (REF NO. FMO1) – MONTHLY STIPEND OF R6500.00

  • NQF Level 7 in Financial Management or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Financial Accounting / SCM (Knowledge of asset management will be an added advantage)

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (REF NO. ITO1) – MONTHLY STIPEND OF R6500.00

  • BSc in Computer Science/ Information Technology or Equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information and Technology

Elangeni TVET College collaborates with various Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) such as the ETDPSETA, MERSETA, and PSETA to fund and support internship placements. These partnerships are essential in ensuring students are placed in well-structured and compliant work environments where learning outcomes can be met effectively.
