What You’ll Be Doing

As a Network Operations Centre (NOC) Engineer intern, you will play a critical role in monitoring and maintaining Comsol’s cutting-edge network services. You’ll be exposed to dynamic and high-pressure environments where your problem-solving and multitasking abilities will be tested daily. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring, testing, and troubleshooting network services to ensure uninterrupted performance.
  • Logging and escalating incidents while ensuring resolution within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Analysing monitoring graphs, interpreting network diagrams, and recommending improvements.
  • Supporting key technologies, including microwave solutions and Mikrotik routers.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service through the helpdesk.
  • Working flexible shifts in a busy, high-volume operational setting.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

Comsol is looking for motivated and technically skilled individuals with a foundation in IT and networking. To qualify, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12.
  • A+ and N+ certifications (essential).
  • ITIL Foundation v3 (or later).
  • Experience with Mikrotik routers (essential).
  • At least 1 year’s exposure to a Network Operations Centre environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio).
  • Strong troubleshooting, multitasking, and communication skills.

Additional advantageous qualifications include:

  • CCNA certification.
  • Knowledge of wireless technologies.
