Buscor (Pty) Ltd, the leading bus transport company in Mpumalanga, continues its commitment to community upliftment by inviting applications for its 2026 Bursary Programme. This opportunity is exclusively available to applicants residing within Buscor’s operational areas, namely the Mbombela Municipality, Nkomazi Municipality, and part of Bushbuckridge Municipality.
With a strong focus on education and development, Buscor is offering a limited number of bursaries to deserving students who wish to pursue full-time undergraduate studies at nationally recognised higher learning institutions, such as universities and colleges.
What the Bursary Covers and Duration
The bursary may be awarded for a maximum of five years per successful candidate, provided that:
- The student passes each academic year.
- The student does not change the approved course or degree.
- The company remains financially positioned to sustain the bursary programme.
Please note that previous recipients of the Buscor bursary (from 2025 or earlier) must reapply for 2026. Submitting results and a new application is compulsory, as there is no automatic renewal of funding.
Who Can Apply?
To be considered, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Reside within Buscor’s operational areas (Mbombela, Nkomazi, part of Bushbuckridge).
- Be registered or planning to register for full-time undergraduate studies in 2026.
- Achieved at least a “C” symbol in Grade 12.
- For current Grade 12 learners: submit mid-year results with the application. If shortlisted, final results must be submitted by 16 January 2026.
- For current tertiary students: results must also be submitted by 16 January 2026.
Importantly, applicants must provide proof of enrolment at a recognised university or college before any bursary funds can be released.
Application and Selection Process
All applications will be evaluated by Buscor’s management committee. Since only a limited number of bursaries are available, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee approval. Preference will be given to bursary holders who have successfully completed their previous year of study.
Applicants must also note:
- Application does not guarantee approval.
- Only shortlisted applicants will be considered.
- No late applications will be accepted.
How to Apply
Application forms are available from the Human Resources Department. Completed forms must be filled in detail and submitted no later than 10 October 2025.
