About the Internship Programme
The Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP) is a structured professional training and work experience programme designed to provide high-quality exposure in all aspects of municipal budgeting and treasury. This initiative is in line with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Act 56 of 2003 and the related financial reforms.
Interns will undergo a logical and progressive training sequence that enhances the knowledge acquired at university or technikon level. The programme culminates in qualifications aligned with the Municipal Minimum Competency Regulations (Gazette 29967 of June 2007), ensuring that participants are fully equipped to serve within the financial management sector of local government.
