The Plant Learnership Programme at Kolomela Mine provides practical training in mineral processing through a 24-month structured enrichment programme designed to equip participants with the technical and professional skills needed to thrive in mining operations.

  • Monthly stipend/allowance throughout the 24-month period to support learning and living needs.
  • A recognised MQA (Mining Qualifications Authority) Certificate upon successful completion.

Entry Requirements

  • Educational Qualification: Grade 12 or Technical N3.
  • Valid South African Driver’s License.
  • Medical Clearance: Successfully passed medical job-fit assessment (RFA).
  • Ability to Obtain LPCAT Assessment: Candidates must pass an LPCAT assessment before the programme starts.
  • Fitness Certificate: A valid RFA fitness certificate is mandatory before commencement.

It is important to note that the learnership will only commence once the LPCAT assessment and valid fitness certificate are successfully obtained.

Preference Criteria

Anglo American is committed to empowering local communities. Therefore, preference will be given to:

  • Candidates residing within Tsantsabane Municipality.
  • Youth aged 18 – 35 years old.

This ensures that opportunities are directed towards empowering the community surrounding Kolomela Mine.
