Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Ltd (WHC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of the Witwatersrand, is inviting unemployed South African youth to apply for its Youth Employment Services (YES) Programme for 2025/2026. This initiative is designed to empower young people through valuable workplace experience, skills development, and personal growth.

About the Programme

The YES Programme aims to transform the lives of unemployed youth by providing them with meaningful employment and learning opportunities across various administrative and support roles within WHC. The programme supports the national YES4Youth initiative, which addresses youth unemployment by creating sustainable entry-level jobs.

Available Positions

The following fixed-term 12-month positions are available in Gauteng:

  • Banking Administrator (x1) – Ref: YES001
  • Compliance Administrator (x2) – Ref: YES002
  • Fleet Administrator (x1) – Ref: YES003
  • Grant Administrator (x8) – Ref: YES004
  • Payroll Clerk (x1) – Ref: YES005
  • Procurement/IT Administrator (x1) – Ref: YES006
  • HR Administrator (x2) – Ref: YES007
  • Finance Administrator (x7) – Ref: YES008
  • Maintenance Assistant (x1) – Ref: YES009
  • Office Assistant (x2) – Ref: YES010

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the WHC YES Programme, applicants must:

  • Be Black South Africans as defined by the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Act (African, Coloured, or Indian citizens).
  • Be between 18 and 29 years old.
  • Be currently unemployed.
  • Have never participated in a YES Programme before.
  • Show a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to the programme.
