West Coast TVET College Boilermaker Training Programme for 2025

West Coast TVET College Boilermaker Training Programme for 2025

In a strategic move to bridge the gap between skills development and real-world industry needs, West Coast TVET College has secured vital funding from Freeport Saldanha to roll out Year 1 of the Occupational Certificate: Centre of Specialisation (CoS) Boilermaker Apprenticeship Programme. This initiative marks a significant milestone in empowering local youth and strengthening South Africa’s artisan training capacity in critical trades.

Empowering Youth Through Practical Artisan Training

The Occupational Certificate: Boilermaker (NQF Level 2) is a one-year qualification aligned with the Centre of Specialisation (CoS) model promoted by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). This model integrates academic learning with on-the-job practical training, making it ideal for producing competent artisans who meet the demands of modern industry.

Thanks to Freeport Saldanha’s financial support, West Coast TVET College is now equipped to commence the first year of training for the 2025 intake, with state-of-the-art facilities, experienced mentors, and industry-aligned curriculum. The programme will be delivered at the Vredenburg Campus, well-known for its technical infrastructure and strong employer partnerships.
