The University of the Free State (UFS) is calling on talented and ambitious graduates to apply for its Internship Programme (X15 Posts). This is a 2-year contract appointment where successful candidates will work 40 hours per week at one of UFS’s campuses:
- Bloemfontein Campus – Bloemfontein, FS ZA (Primary)
- Qwaqwa Campus – Qwaqwa, FS ZA
- South Campus – Bloemfontein, FS ZA

Internship Description
As an intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Student Academic Services (SAS) division. Duties include:
- Assisting with student enrolment processes and admissions across faculties.
- Supporting the maintenance of academic records, transcripts, and certificates.
- Providing assistance during examination processes and graduation ceremonies.
- Ensuring accurate scheduling of classes and examinations using PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
- Coordinating academic venue bookings and curriculum data management.
- Participating in quality assurance workshops and meetings, ensuring compliance with institutional and national standards.
- Responding to administrative queries via email, phone, or in person.
- Supporting data validation and reconciliation processes to maintain record integrity.
This programme will expose interns to compliance, administration, quality assurance, and communication within higher education.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet the following inherent requirements:
- A National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF Level 6) in one of the following:
Administration, Office Administration, Administrative Management, Public Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Communication, Public Relations, Computer Sciences, Data Management, Project Management. - Basic computer literacy (Microsoft 360 and related MS software).
- Must not be currently participating in another internship/learnership.
- Must not have previous formal work experience.
- Must be willing to sign an internship agreement with UFS.
