Tshipi Borwa Mine is opening doors for local youth through its 12-month Mineral Processing Enrichment Learnership Programme, designed to provide valuable skills, hands-on exposure, and a pathway into the mining industry.

This learnership is more than just training — it’s an opportunity to learn from industry experts, gain a formal qualification, and be part of a programme that empowers local talent while contributing to the future of South Africa’s mining sector.

Duties & Responsibilities

As a learner, you will be exposed to the day-to-day realities of mining operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Attending safety inductions and adhering to mine health and safety rules.
  • Assisting with the collection and preparation of plant samples.
  • Taking part in problem-solving and plant improvement projects.
  • Monitoring plant operations under supervision.
  • Demonstrating professionalism, punctuality, and a strong willingness to learn.

This exposure ensures that you not only gain theoretical knowledge but also practical, job-ready skills.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Proof of residence within the John Taolo Gaetsewe District (including high school attended).
  • Ability to obtain a valid medical fitness certificate.
  • Successful completion of a Dover Assessment (as part of recruitment).

These criteria ensure that learners are fully prepared for the rigours and demands of the mining environment.

 

 

Package & Remuneration

Tshipi Borwa Mine recognises the importance of supporting learners throughout their training. The programme offers:

  • A monthly stipend/allowance for the 12-month duration.
  • The opportunity to obtain a recognised NQF Level 2 Mineral Processing Certificate.
  • Commuting transport assistance, easing the journey to and from the mine.
