What is the Young Professionals-in-Training Programme?
The Transnet YPT Programme is a structured 24-month developmental initiative aimed at graduates from diverse academic backgrounds, including Engineering, Accounting, Logistics, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Supply Chain Management. POSITION:YOUNG PROFESSIONALS-IN-TRAINING (HERITAGE)

POSITION PURPOSE
- Transnet Corporate Centre and Academy is looking for dynamic and recently qualified graduates for a two-year programme (24 months programme).
- This programme will provide the incumbents with relevant workplace experience through a structured learning programme and organizational support.
POSITION OUTPUTS
- Delivering specific tasks within a work-stream/department
- As a Young-Professional-In-Training, your responsibilities include shadowing various staff members, participating in learning experiences, attending meetings and workshops, with exposure to other working functions within procurement to gain practical experience on the following deliverables:
- Communicate with customers to ensure a clear understanding of their needs, including level of urgency as well as keep them updated on a regular basis on the progress of their requirements Serve as the central contact point for supplier and end user queries and ensure that queries are addressed in a satisfactory and timeous manner;
- Provide general administrative, research and assistance.
- Take work briefs / instructions from Mentor and / or Specialist to structure work required to produce specific project or deliverable
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree or National Diploma in Heritage studies, Fine Art, History, Curatorship, Visual Studies, and/or related Humanities discipline.
- 0-1 year working experience
- Ms Office Packages
- Preference will be given to applicants considered as South African Youth (under the age of 35).
COMPETENCIES
- Good written and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Proficient in Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Attention to details
- The ability to work well within a team; problem-solving and pays attention to detail
