Purpose of the Job
The role of an Electrical Maintenance Operator is critical in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and reliability of electrical systems. Successful candidates will support maintenance teams, operate electrical devices and systems, and accurately collect field data. Key Responsibilities
As part of Sasol’s Secunda operations, appointed candidates will be responsible for:
- Applying and maintaining safety standards in the workplace.
- Participating in root cause analyses (RCAs) and providing valuable feedback to improve systems.
- Attending daily morning meetings to discuss and plan work assignments.
- Performing plant inspections, maintenance, and repairs to ensure maximum equipment reliability.
- Providing regular feedback to supervisors and customers on progress.
- Maintaining good housekeeping and following waste disposal procedures.
- Conducting IMS inspections to sustain and improve plant safety and stability.
- Identifying faults and improvement opportunities within their work areas.
- Attending training courses and seminars to improve skills and competencies.
- Supporting Sasol’s business goals and vision by meeting deadlines and delivering quality work.
Formal Education Requirements
To qualify, applicants must have:
- Grade 12 with Maths, Science, and English or N3 Certificate (mandatory).
- NQF Level 2 Electrical occupational qualification from an accredited SETA or training authority (mandatory).
Experience Required
- A minimum of 1–2 years’ relevant working experience in electrical maintenance or operations.
