The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) continues to invest in developing young engineering talent through its internship and in-service training programmes. The Eastern Cape Provincial Office has opened applications for the Sanral Internship Programme, inviting Civil Engineering students who are ready to complete their practical training. This initiative provides essential workplace exposure and skills development, bridging the gap between academic studies and the demands of the engineering profession.

About the Programme

SANRAL plays a critical role in building and maintaining South Africa’s road infrastructure. Through this internship, the agency seeks to support the career development of aspiring engineers while also ensuring that local communities benefit from employment and skills initiatives.

This opportunity is designed specifically for:

  • University students who have completed their S1–S4 modules and require P1/P2 in-service training.
  • TVET College students who have completed N4–N6 Civil Engineering and require 24 months practical workplace exposure.

Successful candidates will gain hands-on training under the guidance of experienced engineers, focusing on practical applications of theoretical knowledge.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the SANRAL Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Completion of all academic modules (no outstanding theory).
  • Currently in need of P1/P2 University training or 24 months College in-service training.
  • Must reside within the project area, specifically Sundays River Valley Local Municipality.

 

 

Required Documentation

Applicants must submit a complete application package including:

  • A comprehensive CV detailing academic history and any relevant work-integrated learning.
  • A certified copy of Identity Document (ID).
  • An official academic record from the institution.
  • A confirmation letter from the university or college verifying eligibility to begin in-service training.
  • Proof of residence verified by the Councillor’s Office.

Preference Criteria
