Available Fields of Training
Applicants are invited to apply for apprenticeships in the following critical trades:
- Boilermaking – Requires an N2 qualification with passes in Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Drawings, and Boilermaking Trade Theory.
- Fitting and Turning – Requires an N2 qualification with passes in Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Drawings, and Fitting & Turning Trade Theory.
- Welding – Requires a Level 4 qualification with passes in Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Drawings, and Platers Trade Theory.
- Refrigeration – Requires an N2 qualification with passes in Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Drawings, and Electrical Trade Theory.
These trades are not only in demand but also provide diverse career opportunities across industries such as manufacturing, construction, mining, and maintenance.

Interested youth must complete the official apprenticeship application form (available at Department of Roads and Public Works [DRPW] District Offices). Applications must be supported with the following documents:
- Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Certified copies of ID and relevant qualifications
- Proof of residence
- SARS registration number
- Proof of banking details
