The Phakamile Mabija Apprenticeship Programme 2025

The Phakamile Mabija Apprenticeship Programme is a golden opportunity for motivated youth in the Northern Cape Province to gain practical skills, earn while learning, and secure a future in essential technical trades. This initiative is aimed at empowering unemployed South African youth aged 18–35, giving them access to hands-on training and a nationally recognised qualification that opens doors to lifelong employment.

Why This Apprenticeship Matters

In South Africa, skilled artisans play a vital role in driving industry growth, infrastructure development, and economic empowerment. The Phakamile Mabija Apprenticeship Programme addresses this need by equipping young people with knowledge and skills in high-demand trades. Successful participants will not only gain technical expertise but will also earn a monthly stipend while completing the programme, ensuring financial support during training.

Upon completion of the 36-month programme, learners will receive a Red Seal qualification, a respected national standard in artisan trades. This certification is highly regarded across industries, giving apprentices a competitive edge in the labour market.
