The North West Parks & Tourism Board (NWPTB) is committed to empowering young graduates by providing valuable work experience that bridges the gap between academic learning and the professional world. Through its Graduate Internship Programme, the Board contributes to skills development and employment creation while fostering growth in the tourism and conservation sectors.
This programme is a 12-month structured internship designed to offer graduates practical workplace exposure aligned with their field of study. Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of R5,000.00, helping them gain financial support while acquiring hands-on experience.
Internship Opportunities Available
The NWPTB is offering a wide range of internship placements across critical sectors, giving graduates the opportunity to contribute to South Africa’s tourism and environmental management goals. Opportunities include:
- National Diploma in Nature Conservation (X10 posts)
Graduates will gain field exposure in conservation practices, wildlife management, and sustainable resource use. - Diploma/Degree in Tourism Management and Development (X10 posts)
Interns will be trained in tourism development, destination management, and community tourism support initiatives. - Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management (X5 posts)
Provides exposure to HR processes including recruitment, staff development, and organisational management. - Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management (X2 posts)
Focused on environmental planning, compliance, and sustainability initiatives in the province.
Who Can Apply?
This opportunity is open to South African graduates aged 18 – 35 years who have completed their qualifications from reputable and recognized public institutions such as Universities or Universities of Technology (UoTs).
Applicants must be:
- Unemployed at the time of application.
- Holders of the specified qualifications listed above.
- Passionate about contributing to conservation, tourism, and public sector development in the North West Province.
