Nkangala District Municipality invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Bursary Programme for 2026. The closing date for applications is the 14th November 2025
Who may Apply
- Only South African citizens aged 17-35 residing within NDM (i.e. Emakhazeni, Emalahleni, Victor Khanye, Thembisile Hani, Steve Tshwete and Dr JS Moroka Local Municipalities) area of jurisdiction who intend on pursuing undergraduate studies at a South African public university, university of technology or TVET College are legible to apply.
- Students already studying at University/TVET College are encouraged to apply.
- The following studies will be prioritised: Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Regional/ Town Planning, IT Engineering (Robotics/ Software Development), Architecture, Environmental Management, Disaster Management, Law, Finance, and Social Sciences.
- Applicants must demonstrate proven financial need, as determined by a combined net family household income not exceeding R180,000 per annum.
- Applicants must have obtained a minimum average of 60% in their academic results if enrolled at a university, or a minimum average of 50% if enrolled at a TVET College, in the year they are applying for the bursary.
- Qualifying applicants will be expected to enter into a contractual agreement with NDM.
- Application forms with incorrect/incomplete information will lead to your application being disqualified.
- Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.
Application Process
- Certified copy of the latest academic transcript/record on official letterhead/logo (if you are already at a public University, University of Technology or TVET College):
- Grade 11 final results, as well as your mid-year results if you are currently in grade 12.
- Grade 12 final results as well as your mid-year results if you are currently in your first year at university/college.
- Your last academic year results as well as your current mid-year results if you are currently in your second or third year at university/college.
- Certified South African Identity Documents of the applicant and parents/guardian.
- Applicants must provide proof of residence; if residing with a parent/guardian, an affidavit or supporting proof confirming residency is required.
- Proof of financial need (payslip, SASSA or affidavit stating financial need).
- Copy of acceptance/conditional acceptance letter if available
