Magalies Water, as part of its ongoing youth development initiatives, invites young South Africans to apply for the 2026 Bursary Programme. This opportunity is designed to empower talented students between the ages of 18 and 35 by funding their studies in scarce and critical fields that are vital to South Africa’s growth. The bursary aims to support academically deserving youth from disadvantaged backgrounds and help them build a brighter future.
Fields of Study Covered
Bursaries are available for students intending to study at an accredited and registered South African higher learning institution in the following fields:
- Mechanical Engineering (N4–N6 / Diploma / B Degree) – 2 bursaries
- Electrical Engineering (N4–N6 / Diploma / B Degree) – 2 bursaries
- Civil Engineering (N4–N6 / Diploma / B Degree) – 2 bursaries
- Water Care (Diploma / Advanced Diploma) – 2 bursaries
- Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry (Diploma / B Degree) – 2 bursaries
- Biotechnology / Microbiology (Diploma / B Degree) – 2 bursaries
- Financial Accounting (B Degree) – 2 bursaries
This programme highlights Magalies Water’s commitment to developing future engineers, scientists, and financial experts who will contribute to South Africa’s water sector and overall economy.
Who Should Apply?
The bursary programme is open to:
- South African citizens between 18 and 35 years old.
- Learners who achieved at least 65% average in Grade 12.
- Individuals from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Females and people with disabilities, who will receive preference.
Applicants must be eligible to register or already enrolled at a recognised South African university, university of technology, or college.
Required Documentation
To be considered, applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:
- Certified copy of South African ID
- Grade 11 and Matric results (if currently in Matric)
- Certified Matric certificate (if completed)
- Certified latest academic transcript or record (if already at tertiary level)
- Provisional acceptance letter from the university or institution of higher learning
Note: The first four documents must be certified. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
