Lucchini South Africa (Pty) Ltd has announced an exciting opportunity for young South Africans to apply for its Production Technology Learnership Programme (X10 posts). This 12-month full-time programme is designed for students or unemployed individuals between the ages of 18–24 who are eager to gain practical work experience in the manufacturing and production environment.
About the Learnership
The learnership aims to develop meticulous, adaptable, and safety-conscious individuals who can contribute to the smooth running of production processes. Successful learners will work under the guidance of the Production Manager and gain exposure to multiple aspects of manufacturing, including production operations, equipment handling, logistics, and quality assurance.
This programme provides learners with the opportunity to be actively involved in day-to-day operations while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. The focus is on building foundational skills in production technology, ensuring that participants are prepared for long-term careers in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the programme, learners will be expected to:
- Perform production maintenance activities and report irregularities.
- Apply core production theories, techniques, and concepts.
- Assist with production planning, scheduling, and control.
- Conduct quality control checks and support continuous improvement.
- Set up production equipment and support machinery operations.
- Handle logistics tasks, including packaging, labelling, and inventory control.
- Work collaboratively with technicians and operators to meet targets.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.
- Support the production team in achieving daily goals and deadlines.
These responsibilities will give learners hands-on experience in both technical and operational aspects of production, ensuring they are well prepared for future employment opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Matric / Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and Science.
- Age: Must be between 18–24 years old.
- Other Requirements:
- Medically fit and able to maintain workplace safety standards.
- Good time management and punctuality.
- Ability to work as a team player and follow instructions.
- Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Fluent in English, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Good interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
