Letaba TVET College has once again opened doors of opportunity for skilled South Africans by inviting applications for the 2025 ARPL Electrician Programme, proudly funded by the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (MerSETA). With 15 posts available, this short yet impactful programme runs for three months and is designed to help experienced individuals formalise their skills through the Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) route.

About the Programme

The ARPL Electrician Programme targets individuals who have developed significant practical skills in the electrical field but have not had the opportunity to gain formal qualifications. By participating in this programme, candidates can align their real-world experience with recognised standards, boosting employability and opening pathways for further growth in the electrical engineering sector.

This initiative underscores the partnership between Letaba TVET College and MerSETA in addressing skills shortages, while empowering communities across Limpopo Province. Preference will be given to former Letaba TVET College students, ensuring continuity of support for learners who have previously engaged with the institution.

Qualification Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Work Experience: At least three (3) years relevant experience in the field of Electrical Engineering.
  • Citizenship: Open only to South African citizens.
  • Additional Notes: Candidates must not have previously served in a learnership, skills programme, or apprenticeship.

Placement and Conditions

Successful candidates will be placed around Limpopo Province, gaining practical exposure under guided support. The programme lasts three months, providing intensive skills recognition and evaluation.
