John Thompson is one of the country’s largest manufacturers of industrial and water tube boilers and is well-known for servicing both local and international markets. About the Apprenticeship
The apprenticeship programme is a structured 3-year opportunity that equips participants with technical training and hands-on workplace experience. Successful candidates will complete a blend of:
- Theoretical training at accredited institutions
- Practical workplace exposure on-site
- Comprehensive trade preparation leading to a Trade Test qualification
This ensures apprentices leave the programme with the skills, knowledge, and certifications needed to succeed in their chosen trade.
Available Apprenticeship Positions
- Welding: 5 positions
- Rigging: 5 positions
- Boilermaking: 3 positions
That’s a total of 13 opportunities for dedicated, unemployed youth living in Lekwa Municipality.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- N3/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent NCV Level 4.
- Must have passed Mathematics, Engineering Drawings, and relevant Theory subjects with at least a 50% average.
