Joe Morolong Assmang Bursary Scheme is offering a full time University and University of Technology bursary to the youth of JOE MOROLONG LOCAL MUNICPALITY for the academic year of 2026 for undergraduates only. The bursary opportunity is for Technical and Non-Technical disciplines
WHO CAN APPLY?
- Applicant must be a citizen of South Africa in terms of the South African Citizen Act, No 88 of 1995 and reside within the Joe Morolong Local Municipality.
- Learners currently in Grade 12 Students who are registered at any accredited South African Public Tertiary Institution (universities and university of Technology)
- Students must be between the age of 17 years and 35 years
- Students who are currently in their 1st, 2nd or final year of their study Students who currently do not have a bursary or student loan
- Students that are historically disadvantaged and financially in need.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Grade 12 academic achievements in both Mathematics and Physical Science at level 5 or above within the Science Field.
- 60% average Grade 12 academic achievements for other fields of study
- No bursaries will be granted to existing students who are not promoted to next year level study
- Applications from designated groups will be given preference i.e., HDIs Consideration will be given to applicants that meet the financial means test requirements.

- Proof of acceptance/admission by the University for 2026 year of study
- Completed Application form obtainable below
- Certified copy of ID of applicant An Affidavit confirming if both parents are unemployed
- Copies of parent’s proof of income / social or pension grant ID Copy of parent/s
- Copy of Grade 12 results /Grade 11 report when currently in Grade 12
- Copy of previous academic record (for students already studying at University or University of Technology)
- Proof of residence obtainable from Joe Morolong offices or tribal office
