The YES Programme is a business-led collaboration with the South African government and private sector that empowers unemployed youth with practical workplace experience and skills development. FEM is offering a range of internship opportunities across its business units, allowing participants to gain hands-on exposure and mentorship from industry experts.
Available Internship Fields and Duties
- YES Interns – Claims
- Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Insurance, Law, or Risk Management.
- Duties: Assist in claims processing, verification of documents, liaising with claimants, and providing administrative support.
- YES Interns – Health and Safety
- Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Science.
- Duties: Support workplace inspections, assist with safety audits, compile reports, and promote safety awareness.
- YES Interns – Human Resources (HR)
- Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management or Industrial Psychology.
- Duties: Support recruitment processes, maintain employee records, assist with training and development initiatives, and handle HR administration.
- YES Interns – Information Technology (IT)
- Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Duties: Provide IT support, assist with system upgrades, troubleshoot technical issues, and support digital transformation initiatives.
- YES Interns – Marketing
- Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations.
- Duties: Assist with campaigns, social media management, content creation, branding initiatives, and market research.

- Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Actuarial Science.
- Duties: Support pension fund administration, assist in preparing financial statements, and handle pension-related queries.

- Qualification: Degree in Business Management, Economics, or Actuarial Science.
- Duties: Assist in research and analysis, contribute to the design of new products, and support innovation teams with feasibility studies.
- YES Interns – Rehabilitation (Rehab)
- Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or related Health Sciences.
- Duties: Assist in rehabilitation programme planning, support patient management processes, and provide admin support to therapists.
- YES Interns – Risk and Compliance
- Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Law, Risk Management, or Compliance Studies.
- Duties: Support compliance audits, assist in drafting risk management reports, and ensure regulatory requirements are met.
- YES Interns – Underwriting
- Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Insurance, Finance, or Risk Management.
- Duties: Support the underwriting process, evaluate insurance applications, and assist in policy documentation.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the FEM YES Internship Programme 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Hold a valid South African ID.
- Possess a valid Matric certificate.
- Be between 18–35 years old.
- Be unemployed at the time of application.
- Belong to a designated group in line with South Africa’s transformation goals.
