Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Must be a South African Citizen.
• Grade 11 final results or Grade 12 certificate.
• Conditional acceptance to study engineering at a public South African university in one of the specified disciplines.
• Applicants must not be holding another bursary or be registered at a tertiary institution at the time of application.

Selection Criteria

Candidates will be selected based on academic excellence and conditional university admission. The following criteria apply:

• Academic Results:
  • English – Level 4
  • Pure Mathematics – Level 5
  • Physical Science – Level 5
• University Acceptance: Conditional acceptance into one of the following programmes:
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering (Light Current & Heavy Current)
  • Electromechanical/Mechatronics Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Metallurgy Engineering

Note: Grade 11 year-end results that meet the above requirements will be considered. However, the final selection will depend on the applicant’s 2025 Matric results.
