The Eastern Cape Department of Education invites suitably qualified South African Graduates to apply for their Social Worker Graduate Internship Programme to gain the necessary application skills, as well as “hands on work” experience in their field of specialization for Nineteen (19) months. The Interns will be placed in all 12 ECDoE district Offices across the Province and at Head Office.
Minimum educational qualification:
- Degree in Social Work.
- Registration with a professional council
- Registration with the South African Council for Social Services Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker and proof of payment of registration for 2022
- Participants who have previously benefitted from the program will be disqualified
Applicants are required to submit a completed Z83 form obtainable here.
Certified copies of ID and qualifications, and Curriculum Vitae (CQ with at least three contactable references, must accompany such form. Applicants must quote the district where the vacancy is. Only applicants who in all respects meet the advertised requirements will be considered. Failure to submit the documents listed above will result in disqualification.

When the applicant has not been notified of the results within two (2) months or sixty (60) days from the closing date, the applicant should regard his/ her application as unsuccessful.

The incumbent will be required to sign an internship contract, and performance/ work plan agreement.
Participants who have previously benefitted from the Internship Programme will be disqualified.
