If you’ve just completed Hospitality Level 4 at Eastcape Midlands TVET College’s Grahamstown Campus, this is your fast track into real industry experience. The College’s Partnership & Linkages unit, in collaboration with CATHSSETA (Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality & Sport Sector Education and Training Authority), is recruiting Hospitality graduates for a 6-month Workplace-Based Learning Programme. You’ll sharpen your customer-service, food & beverage, and front-of-house skills while earning a stipend and building a professional track record employers actually look for.

Who should apply

  • Qualification: Completed Hospitality Level 4 (Grahamstown Campus).
  • Age: 18–35 years.
  • Status: Ready to transition from classroom to workplace and commit to full-time experiential learning for six months.

Minimum application requirements (include all of these)

  1. Certified ID copy
  2. Clear, detailed CV (with contact details and any practical exposure you’ve had)
  3. Certified Hospitality certificates for L2, L3, and L4
  4. Must be 18–35 years old

Tip: Make sure your certifications are clearly legible and your CV highlights any practical modules, events support, catering projects, simulations, or customer-facing duties you completed during Level 4.

 

 

What you’ll likely do (examples of workplace activities)

  • Welcome and check-in/check-out guests; handle reservations and basic POS functions
  • Assist with food preparation, mise en place, basic baking/pastry support, and service pass coordination
  • Support barista and beverage service, stock rotation, and hygiene standards
  • Maintain housekeeping standards: room prep, linen control, and turn-down support
  • Uphold health & safety and HACCP practices; complete daily checklists and logs
  • Deliver customer service with professionalism—communication, problem-solving, and complaint handling
