The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) is opening doors for ambitious graduates across South Africa through its Graduate Internship Programme. With opportunities available in all provinces, this initiative is designed to equip unemployed graduates with workplace exposure that will complement their academic qualifications. By participating, successful candidates will be empowered to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical workplace skills, improving their chances of securing long-term employment in the public or private sector.
Salary and Duration
The internship offers a monthly stipend of R5 000,00 – R6 000,00, making it a valuable opportunity for graduates eager to earn while they gain industry-relevant experience. The programme runs for 24 months (2 years), during which interns will sign a fixed-term contract with CIDB.
Programme Overview
The CIDB Graduate Internship Programme provides exposure in critical areas of administration and project support. Interns will be part of a professional environment where they can learn to manage tasks, contribute to team projects, and develop critical workplace skills.
Key attributes sought include:
- Computer literacy for handling reports, data, and presentations.
- Teamwork to thrive in a collaborative environment.
- Willingness to travel when required by projects.
- Ability to work under pressure while delivering high-quality results.
Interns will play a supportive role across various operational functions, enhancing their understanding of how the construction industry is governed and administered.
