The Clicks Youth Employment Programme consists of:
- Classroom-Based Learning
Participants will receive structured theoretical training aligned with the NQF 2 Checkout Operator qualification. This includes:
- Customer service fundamentals
- Basic retail operations
- Point-of-sale systems
- Handling payments and cash control
- Workplace communication
- Retail compliance and ethics
- Practical On-the-Job Training
You will be placed in a Clicks retail store in Gauteng where you will:
- Operate checkout tills
- Assist customers with purchases
- Process payments
- Maintain retail hygiene and safety standards
- Work within a team environment
This is real retail experience – not simulated training.
- National Qualification
Upon successful completion, participants receive:
- NQF Level 2 Checkout Operator occupational qualification
This gives you formal recognition in the retail sector.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, you must meet all of the following:
- South African citizen
- Aged between 18 and 29 years
- Must have passed Matric
- Must be unemployed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Willingness to learn
- Must not currently be registered on a Learnership or Skills Programme
If you are already on another funded programme (such as a SETA learnership or internship), you will not qualify.
