The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) is opening doors for ambitious young graduates through a range of internship opportunities. Based at their Sunnyside Office in Pretoria, these 24-month internship programmes are designed to give participants valuable hands-on work experience while preparing them for future careers in both the private and public sectors.

Below is a detailed look at the internships available, their requirements, and the duties involved.

Available Internships and Requirements

  1. Strategy Operational Excellence Interns
  • Qualifications: Degree/Diploma in Business Management, Strategic Management, or related field.
  • Duties: Assist in developing strategy documents, monitoring business performance, conducting research, and supporting initiatives to improve organisational efficiency.
  1. Project Management Interns
  • Qualifications: Degree/Diploma in Project Management or Business Administration.
  • Duties: Support project planning, scheduling, and reporting; assist in monitoring project progress and documentation; ensure compliance with CIPC’s project management standards.
  1. Information Technology Internship
  • Qualifications: Degree/Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or Software Development.
  • Duties: Provide IT support, assist with system upgrades, software testing, troubleshooting, and data management while supporting innovation in digital transformation.
  1. Call Centre Office Administrator Intern
  • Qualifications: Diploma/Certificate in Office Administration, Public Management, or related field.
  • Duties: Handle office filing systems, assist with call centre scheduling, manage correspondence, and provide administrative support to enhance call centre operations.

 

 

  1. Call Centre Quality Assurer Intern (x1)
  • Qualifications: Degree/Diploma in Quality Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Duties: Monitor and evaluate call centre interactions, prepare quality assurance reports, recommend improvements, and ensure compliance with service standards.
  1. Call Centre Agent Interns (x2)
  • Qualifications: Diploma in Customer Service, Office Administration, or Communication Studies.
  • Duties: Handle customer queries, provide accurate information on CIPC services, log complaints, and maintain a high standard of customer service delivery.
  1. Facilities and Security Intern (x1)
  • Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Facilities Management, Security Management, or related field.
  • Duties: Assist in managing building facilities, support security compliance processes, maintain asset records, and ensure safe working environments.
  1. Safety, Health and Environmental Intern (x1)
  • Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Studies, or Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Duties: Monitor SHE compliance, conduct inspections, update SHE documentation, and assist in implementing workplace health and safety programmes.

Beneficiaries of the Internship Programme:

  • Unemployed South African graduates from higher education institutions who have completed their degrees/diplomas.
  • Unemployed graduates who have not been exposed to any work experience.
  • Unemployed graduates who have never participated in the Internship programme.
  • Applicants must be between ages of 18 to 35 years old.
