The Bergrivier Municipality, located in the Western Cape, continues its commitment to the development and upliftment of local communities through its 2026 Bursary Programme. This initiative is tailored for students who reside within the jurisdiction of the municipality and are pursuing or planning to pursue higher education. The bursary aims to remove financial barriers and promote access to tertiary education, particularly among youth from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Why Apply for the Bergrivier Municipality Bursary?
The rising cost of tertiary education in South Africa often prevents capable and hardworking students from achieving their dreams. Bergrivier Municipality recognises this challenge and responds by investing in its own people. This bursary programme not only helps reduce the financial burden but also builds a future-ready generation equipped with the skills and qualifications needed for local economic growth and service delivery.
Through this bursary, qualifying students will receive financial support covering registration fees, tuition, and in some cases, prescribed learning materials. Preference is given to students whose chosen fields of study align with critical and scarce skills needed within the public sector—such as Engineering, Accounting, Human Resource Management, Environmental Science, and Town Planning.
