About the AECOM Bursary
The AECOM Bursary Programme for 2026 is designed for full-time students in South Africa who are pursuing a career in the built environment. Applications are open to students studying towards a qualification in:
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering (including Rail Engineering)
- Mechanical Engineering
- Quantity Surveying
Benefits of the AECOM Bursary
The bursary provides comprehensive financial assistance, including:
- Tuition fees, prescribed books, and accommodation (up to R100,000 per annum)
- A laptop allowance of up to R8,000 (once-off)
The bursary is renewable each year, provided that bursars maintain strong academic performance with a minimum 65% average.
In addition, bursary holders will be required to work at AECOM for the equivalent number of years the bursary was awarded, ensuring valuable work experience in one of the world’s top engineering and infrastructure companies.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be registered or intend to register full-time at a recognised South African tertiary institution in 2026
- Successfully completed Grade 12 with at least 75% average or be currently maintaining 65%+ at tertiary level
- Strong performance in Mathematics and Science (preferred 75%)
- Demonstrate motivation, passion, and commitment to the built environment
- No prior work experience required
