Online marker applications for November 2022 examinations are now OPEN. All markers will receive confirmation of their appointments by 30 November 2022

The WCED invites applications to mark the 2022 National Senior Certificate and the 2023 Senior Certificate examinations. Educators must meet necessary criteria for the positions of internal moderators, chief markers, deputy chief markers, senior markers and markers.

NB: Applicants must apply for all the subject papers and positions they wish to be considered for. E.g. Should an applicant only apply for the position of deputy chief marker, the applicant will not be considered for neither the position of senior marker, nor marker.

Competency tests: Novice markers must register to write a competency test and must achieve 60% or above in the test to be considered for a marking position. Teachers/Officials wanting to improve their competency test result or those with a competency test mark below 60% may also register to write the competency test. Register before 07 May 2022 here.
