This 2026 Engineering Learnership is designed to set you up for real success by providing:
Structured Training
You will receive both off-the-job theoretical training and on-the-job practical training, ensuring you gain a complete understanding of your chosen engineering discipline.
Full Artisan Qualification
After successfully completing the programme, you will receive a nationally recognised artisan qualification, enabling you to work anywhere in South Africa and internationally.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Valterra Platinum Engineering Learnership Programme, applicants must meet the following:
Academic Requirements
You must have ONE of the following:
Option 1: Matric (Grade 12)
With a minimum 40% pass in:
- Mathematics (NOT Maths Literacy)
- Physical Science
- English
Option 2: N3 Certificate
With subjects aligned to the discipline you are applying for. Examples include:
Boilermaker Plater
- Plating & Structural Steelwork
- Welders Theory
- Engineering Drawings
Electrical Fields
Any of the following:
- Electrical Trade Theory
- Electrotechnology
- Electrotechnics
- Industrial Electronics
- Engineering Drawings
Option 3: NCV Level 4
A full pass in an appropriate trade-related field with at least 40% for all subjects.

Your application MUST include:
- Your updated CV
- Certified copy of your Matric / N3 / NCV qualification
- Certified copy of your South African ID
- Proof of residence (for host community applicants) stamped by a tribal authority or local municipality
